MoneyStrong is a collaboration between The Financial Literacy Coalition, Human Services, Inc. and the United Way of Bartholomew County Volunteer Action Center to offer a holistic approach to improve the financial well-being for people in Bartholomew County. The program offers free, confidential financial coaching to help individuals and families manage their money and improve their financial futures. Coaches work one-on-one with participants to define their personal financial goals and develop an action plan of steps to achieve these goals. From paying rent, to increasing savings, to reaching a financial goal, the Financial Coach is there to help to identify resources and offer support and encouragement that can help participants realize success. Participants commit to doing the work necessary to achieve these goals during a 6-month period and are held accountable through regular check-ins with their coach. In the long run, coaching helps people develop skills so that they can take on future challenges independently.
