United Way's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and AARP Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) programs are a free tax service available to low income individuals, families and seniors in Bartholomew County.
For anyone who lives in Bartholomew County, you can schedule an appointment by calling 2-1-1 or 812-376-6666 from Jan 23rd Monday through Friday. The appointments are held at the United Way Center, Mill Race Center, Sandy Hook Church and Anderson Center(formerly Eastside Community Center)

VERY IMPORTANT: Your taxes can only be filed with your identification and tax statement forms in hand. You MUST have with you:
- Drivers License for all filing parties
- Social Security Cards for all filing parties, including for all dependants
- All tax statement forms, such as W-2, 1099-INT
- It is helpful to have ready your check routing number for direct deposit
